CloudServers.com and CloudApp.com Sell for $56,010 Together at GoDaddy Auctions

A good yield for cloud domains at GoDaddy Auctions as a bevy of cloud based domains hit the auction block, including two amazing names, CloudServers.com and CloudApp.com

While CloudServers.com closed at $32,010, CloudApp.com netted $24,000

Two other cloud names were up for sale – CloudDevice.com at $655, and CloudDevices.com, which closed at $705.

For obvious reasons, these are great domains in a category that is growing at an exponential pace. CloudServers.com and CloudApp.com are especially strong names in this category, names on which you can build multi-million dollar businesses. At just $32,000 and $24,000, these were bargains for the buyers!

Wikimedia Foundation Stands Good on its Promise, Leaves GoDaddy for MarkMonitor

At the height of the SOPA-Opera in December and the backlash against GoDaddy that ensued, Jimmy Wales, urged by thousands of members at Reddit.com, promised to move all domains under the Wikimedia Foundation away from GoDaddy to MarkMonitor.

Buried beneath news of hackathons and new hires in the Wikimedia February 2012 Engineering report is a single line stating that the “Wikimedia Foundation has started to move its domain names from GoDaddy to MarkMonitor”.

Inspiration Can Be Found in Some Strange Places…

Inspiration is found in many an unusual place. Some find inspiration in the words of great orators – politicians, celebrities, sports heroes, motivational speakers, business leaders. Some find inspiration from religion. Some like to read books, watch documentaries, listen to inspirational tapes and music. Others find inspiration a lot closer to home from friends, neighbors and family.

 

I vividly recall reading the local newspaper (Brantford Expositor, circa 1983) and saw an article about 3 young guys who strapped a paper shredder into a van and drove it to local businesses and shredded their outdated confidential information.  For whatever reason, I couldn’t sleep that night. I was ecstatic about the potential for my own mobile paper shredding business.
